New Victims Reportedly Keep Coming Forward With Rape Allegations Against Twin Real Estate Heirs

Reality shows like Selling Sunset and Million Dollar Listing have really propelled real estate into the public eye in a way that no one could have predicted. Think about it: What's so exciting about selling homes and property? Apparently there is enough interest to keep multiple series popular for several seasons. Only Hollywood can make a home tour feel like a life-or-death situation.

Outside of the entertainment industry, the world of luxury real estate is being scrutinized because two of its heirs are facing several allegations lodged against them. Oren and Alon Alexander are twin brothers whose father, Shlomy Alexander, is a successful real estate developer based in Miami. One followed in his footsteps while the other branched out ever so slightly. Both are in trouble. Here's what we know about the allegations against the Alexander brothers.

In June 2023, The Real Deal Real Estate News website reported on the sale of a waterfront Miami Beach home that belonged to Oren, Alon, and their brother Tal. It described an impressive house that included a "main house, staff quarters, gazebo, gym, pool, and outdoor kitchen," which sold for $27.5 million. It's hard to believe that almost exactly one year later, this same website would break the news that Oren and Alon were accused of raping two women.

The complaints were filed by Rebecca Mandel and Kate Whiteman using the Adult Survivors Act, which allows "survivors who were over the age of 18 at the time of the assault to sue their alleged perpetrators between Nov. 24, 2022, and Nov. 24, 2023, regardless of how long ago the crime occurred," per another report from The Real Deal. Both women are being represented by the same attorneys in two separate lawsuits.

Mandel alleges that in September 2010 she met Oren and Alon at SL, a now-closed nightclub in the Meatpacking District in New York City, after they had several previous run-ins in 2009. Per the lawsuit, she claims that Alon "intentionally drugged Plaintiff’s drink with an unknown substance, resulting in significant impairment to her physical and mental being"; they then coaxed Mandel back to their apartment by telling her there was a party happening. Once she arrived, they allegedly took turns raping her.

Two years later in 2012, per Whiteman's lawsuit, Whiteman was sexually harassed, assaulted, and raped at the home of "Ivan Wilzig, a recording artist who uses their medieval-style property to host parties," wrote The Real Deal. Like Mandel, Whiteman met the brothers a few years earlier in 2008 and said she repeatedly turned down Oren who asked her out on multiple occasions.

In 2012, Whiteman claimed she received a text from Oren asking if she was going to be in the Hamptons for Memorial Day weekend. After replying yes, she saw the brothers later at a nightclub called Dune where they reportedly ushered her into a black SUV and forced her to attend a party at Wilzig's home. Whiteman tried to leave but was dragged back into the home then brought to a bedroom where the Alexander brothers allegedly "assaulted, raped and battered her, according to the complaint," per The Real Deal.

Since the lawsuits have been made public, The Real Deal reported that multiple women have contacted Evan Torgan, the lawyer representing Mandel and Whiteman. "I’ve spoken to approximately 15 people who say to me they were raped by the Alexander brothers, one [brother] or more, at various times, in New York City, South Beach and in other states as well," Torgan told the outlet.

After the story was posted to the Real Deal Instagram on June 9, 2024, the comments section was flooded with people all saying basically the same thing. "This information has been known throughout Manhattan, the Hamptons, and Miami Beach for a decade plus," wrote one person. Another commenter wrote, "This is a well-known thing in New York City. Everyone had multiple stories about them. Not sure how they got away with it for so long." The answer to that is, of course, money.

The Alexander brothers are represented by Jim Ferraro of the Ferraro Law Firm who has denied all the allegations on their behalf and refers to them as a "shakedown." They have until Aug.19, 2024, to respond to the lawsuits.
