Is 'Love on the Spectrum' Star Subodh Still Dating Rachel? He May Have a New Girlfriend

Fans of Australian docuseries Love on the Spectrum were elated when Netflix decided to create Love on the Spectrum U.S. The show follows adults on the Autism spectrum searching for romance.

In Season 1, we met castmate Subodh Garg from Long Beach, Calif. who embarks on his first date ever with a woman named Rachel Osterbach, an advocate for individuals with disabilities who previously appeared in A&E's docuseries Born This Way. As it turns out, Subodh and Rachel hit it off and became boyfriend and girlfriend by the end of the season.

But it's been a minute since filming wrapped and Subodh and Rachel have been on the forefront of fans' minds. Are they still together? Below, we provide an update on their relationship status as well as details on whether or not either of them will appear in Love on the Spectrum Season 2.

Subodh and Rachel, who began dating during Season 1 of Love on the Spectrum, are no longer together.

In October 2022, a statement from Subodh's family about him and Rachel was shared on his Instagram account. "We would like to share that Subodh and Rachel are no longer together as a couple. They are however going to remain friends going forward."

The statement continued to note that Subodh was "so grateful to Rachel, her family, and the crew of the show for his first relationship." As for how he was doing post-breakup, Subodh's family wrote that he was "doing ok" and would be taking some time to himself before he gets back into the dating game.

As a refresher, Subodh and Rachel went on three dates during Season 1. Although Subodh didn't like watching TV like Rachel did, he learned to take an interest in her hobbies and ask her questions about her favorite shows American Idol and Dancing With the Stars. He also learned how to be a gentleman by practicing actions like pulling the chair out for her whenever they were taking their seats at a restaurant.

Despite Subodh's massive popularity during the premiere season of Love on the Spectrum, he does not appear in Season 2, which becomes available to stream on Netflix on Jan. 19, 2024. Subodh's ex-partner Rachel is also not included in Love on the Spectrum Season 2.

It's unclear why Subodh was not featured in the series' second installment. As per his Instagram, he continues to fondly discuss his time on Love on the Spectrum and has even been seen hanging with some of his Season 1 castmates.

However, Subodh's Season 2 absence may be because he already found love again with a new girlfriend and may want to keep this new romance out of the public eye.

Subodh is currently dating Katina Gerstein, whom he began dating in June 2023, according to an anniversary post. Also on the spectrum, Katina suffers from Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (MALS), a very rare condition that affects the ligament that arches over the aorta. She frequently posts raising awareness for her MALS on her Instagram account @malswarrior. Katina also shares adorable snippets of her and Subodh on her personal account @autismsupergirl.
