Hilary Duff Is a Mom to Four — Meet Her Kids: Townes, Banks Violet, Mae James, and Luca

Whether you know her as an early-2000s pop icon, an actress, or just a regular mom sharing her day-to-day life on social media, Hilary Duff is a beloved familiar face.

If you follow Hilary on social media, it's easy to see she has completely embraced motherhood, as she raises her four kids alongside her husband, Matthew Koma.

In an exclusive interview with Distractify, the How I Met Your Father star opened up about her adorable family, listening to her music with her kids, and the advice she has for her daughters.

Hilary welcomed her first child, son Luca Cruz, in 2012 with her ex-husband Mike Comrie.

Hilary is always posting images of Luca on Instagram, and it's clear from the years of snapshots she has shared that her oldest child has become a doting big brother and developed a wholesome relationship with his stepfather as well.

In 2018, Hilary and Matthew welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Banks Violet, and in 2021, the couple welcomed another baby girl, Mae James. According to Hilary, Banks is already a huge fan of her music.

"[Banks] wants to listen to my songs every day in the car," Hilary told us exclusively while promoting her partnership with Planet Oat in support of the Girl Scout Cookie Program.

"It's like this weird mixture of embarrassment but also pride. Like yeah, this was a bop. Yeah, this still slaps," Hilary tells us of her listening sessions with her daughter.

She added, "She like knows all the words to at least like three of my songs. And it's really, really sweet."

We know it will only be a matter of time before her kids discover Lizzie McGuire, if they haven't already!

Then, on May 3, 2024, Hilary and her husband welcomed their fourth child, Townes Meadow Bair. Hilary shared an Instagram carousel post showcasing the moments just after she welcomed Townes into the world via a water birth.

Hilary is dedicated to raising her girls to be their best selves and revealed some advice she hopes to share with her daughters someday.

She told us that she is "doing everything I can to create girls that are comfortable with themselves and know their power and know their worth."

As a Girl Scouts alum, Hilary shared that she hopes Banks and Mae will consider joining the program in the future, adding "I think it's a really lovely sisterhood" and "a great program for building girls' confidence."

Overall the pop icon said, "I just want my girls to know they can be all the things and do all the things."
