In a 2024 interview with TV Insider, Jake revealed that the he had lost the Saga, a boat he co-invested in, due to financial problems he says were caused by his business partner. Losing an investment partially funded by his children's college savings is undoubtedly hard to accept, and stepping down in rank to return to the F/V Northwestern as a crew member presented yet another challenge for him to overcome.
However, the synopsis of Season 20, Episode 3 reveals that Jake is now the captain of the Titan Explorer. Let's hope he can overcome his loss and reel in substantial earnings quickly.

In April 2014, Jake Anderson published his first book, Relapse, which chronicles his journey from addiction to sobriety. In an interview with The Pop Culture Principle, Jake talked about the impetus behind writing this painful, yet beautiful memoir.
"What made me decide to write it was because I saw where I was going," he told the outlet. "I wrote it because I wanted people to believe in themselves no matter what age you are. In this great country of ours, you can be homeless on the street like I was and decide one moment that you want to do something great and then change your situation."
Jake Anderson also has his own coffee business.
