As one of the new additions to the Summer House cast, Jesse Solomon has made an impression. After years of new people coming and going in and out of the cast, both he and other newcomer West Wilson are the first good fit. Their laid-back personalities were exactly what was needed for the house. Jesse came in as the goofy, fun-loving guy who was there for a good time and good hookups. What people quickly came to realize was that his joy comes from a very specific place.
Jesse has no qualms about sharing his battle with testicular cancer. Before the season premiere, he shared details about his cancer battle. He was first diagnosed when he was 24 years old and had to have one testicle removed to avoid doing chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the cancer came back the following year, forcing him to endure four rounds of chemotherapy. Luckily, he went into remission and he later joined the show. So, what's going on with Jesse Solomon's cancer scare on Summer House?
Jesse Solomon had a cancer scare on 'Summer House.'
Amid all the couple drama between Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula, as well as the drama between Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard, Jesse has a problem that could impact his life and health. Being in remission is both a wonderful thing and a nerve-wracking thing. Jesse explained that the likelihood of remaining cancer-free increases after being in remission for five years. He was preparing for his five-year appointment when he noticed a lump on one of his testicles.
Jesse and West displayed the power of emotionally open male friendship.
Viewers witnessed the depth of the friendship that Jesse and West have developed this season when they discussed the situation regarding his cancer coming back. West could tell that Jesse wasn't being himself and went in to check on him. Jesse told West what was going on. He was able to discuss all the fear he had been feeling as the appointment drew closer. West did what any good friend should do. He was a shoulder for Jessie to cry on and listened to his fears.
Jesse had to undergo testing to see if the cancer had come back.
Jesse went with his mother to his five-year appointment. He shared later on a phone call with West, who was with Ciara Miller at the time of the call, that the doctor found another lump in addition to the one he felt, which only raised his concerns. He tried to joke with West about it, but it was very clear that everyone, including Jesse, was extremely worried. Unfortunately, he had to wait for the results, which will hopefully be revealed on the show soon enough.
Jesse shared how he felt being in the house while dealing with the difficult situation.
The drama in the Summer House has been loud and prevalent, and Jesse had no time to care about it, according to a recent interview he did with People. When asked about the drama between Carl and Lindsay, Jesse said, “It's just so hard to care about life things when you're just worried about your health because if you don't have the health, you don't have any of these life things." He didn't reveal anything about his diagnosis, only sharing that he is currently happy and healthy.
