'Naked and Afraid XL's Kaiela Hobart Says One of Her Goals Was To Kill a Caiman in the Wild (EXCLUSIVE CLIP)

Discovery's Naked and Afraid XL put teams of people out in the wild to survive and hunt together. But in an exclusive clip ahead of the May 26 episode, survivalist Kaiela Hobart is left to fend for herself as she tries to capture and kill a caiman in the Colombian badlands. For those who don't know, a caiman is part of the alligator family.

And, although the one Kaiela hunts down in the clip is on the smaller side, it still looks pretty scary to face on her own. She explains in the clip that it was one of her main goals on Naked and Afraid XL to kill a caiman. And that statement alone kind of makes you wonder who Kaiela is outside of the show. You know, when she's fully clothed and taking on the wilderness that way.

Outside of Naked and Afraid XL, Kaiela is a survivalist and an arborist. In May 2023, Kaiela shared an Instagram video from her first days as a trainee. And it proves that there is little she can't do if she puts her mind to it, as far as nature and the outdoors in general are concerned.

"Started my new job as an arborist trainee two weeks ago and every day is an adventure with something new to learn," she wrote in the caption under the video. "Incredibly thankful for my mentors who encourage me, teach me, and keep me safe. The camaraderie and daily doses of adrenaline make every day in the field something I look forward to."

She was also on Naked and Afraid in 2020, so it makes sense for Kaiela to return to prove herself by hunting and killing a caiman on her own. Which she does in the clip, though she admits at one point that it's "gonna get weird" to corner the animal. From rock climbing to hiking, Kaiela is very much a lover of the outdoors. And, it seems, her wife is by her side for much of her activities outside.

There are a couple of things that set Naked and Afraid XL apart from its predecessor Naked and Afraid. For starters, the XL version of the show features a group of people who have to survive in the wilderness rather than a pair of contestants. Naked and Afraid XL also spans across a 40 day period, which is 19 days longer than the flagship show.

In the Naked and Afraid XL clip, however, we see one of the team members, Kaiela, out on her own after her teammates decide to tap out on the challenge of finding and filling the caiman. Luckily, Kaiela is up to the task.
