Rapper and hip-hop artist Kanye West made his debut in the early 2000s with the release of his critically acclaimed album "College Dropout." He has gone on to release nine solo albums including "Graduation," "The Life of Pablo," and "Jesus Is King." In 2011 he collaborated with rapper Jay Z for their joint album "Watch the Throne." He also worked with Kid Cudi on their collaborative album "Kids See Ghosts" in 2018.

Along with music, Kanye has also established a successful career in the fashion industry, working with Nike, Louis Vuitton, and Gap before releasing his own line Yeezy with Adidas. He is also the founder and head of the creative company DONDA, named after his late mother. 

Kanye has made headlines for his outspoken persona, infamously interrupting Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs and again at the 2015 Grammy when Beck was awarded Album of the Year over Beyoncé. 

In 2013, Kanye welcomed his first daughter, North West, with Kim Kardashian, whom he married the following year. The couple went on to have three more kids — Saint, Chicago, and Psalm — before announcing their divorce in 2021. 

Kanye's mental health has also made headlines, with the artist revealing he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder during a 2019 interview. That did not stop him, however, from running for president in 2020, and hinting at another attempt in 2024. 

Kanye has sold over 20 million albums worldwide, created one of the world's most influential sneaker brands, and his empire is worth an estimated $6.6 billion, making him one of the richest Black men in U.S. history.
