The hit Bravo reality series Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard is back and spicier than ever. After fans met the cast in May 2023, they've returned and don't plan on holding back. Long before the new season aired, a clip from the Season 2 trailer suggested there would be drama ahead for two of its stars, Preston Mitchum and Bria Fleming. Bria and Preston's explosive argument caused a stir on social media when it aired at BravoCon in November 2023.
In more clips from the show, the two can't seem to get along, with Bria stating in the trailer, "Preston has these feelings for me that I don't understand," and Preston stating in his confessional interview, "Bria can be bratty, and Bria will make me snap."
Before the new season aired, Bria and Preston exclusively told Distractify about what led to their blowup and if we can expect more drama between them in the house.
‘Summer House: MV’ stars Preston Mitchum and Bria Fleming have a screaming match in a Season 2 premiere teaser.
Bravoholics first met Preston, an LGBTIA+ activist and attorney, and Bria, a model and business owner, in Season 1 of Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard. Although Preston and Bria had individual drama with some of their co-stars in their first season, they seemingly had a good relationship.
But, according to a Season 2 teaser, the friendship hit a rough patch during their time together in Martha’s Vineyard. In a clip shared by @carlosjharris on X/Twitter, Preston and Bria gathered with their castmates for a group dinner outside. The heated exchange included Bria calling Preston “fake as f--k” and Preston screaming to Bria, "I am tired of everything being an argument!” over a plate of crab legs.
While discussing the heated argument between him and Bria, Preston told us he was upset with his friend for several reasons. One of the reasons was that she started the beef during his favorite pastime: eating crab legs weekly with his dog and partner Donald.
However, on a more serious note, he said the fight was the result of his feeling like Bria didn't give him the support he expected after his father passed away in August 2023. Especially since the two of them talked "every single day."
"Because of me and Bria's relationship, I just thought there would be more of an effort," Preston told Distractify. "And so that was just something I didn't share. But that kind of went into some of my frustration and emotional overload that was happening."
Preston Mitchum and Bria Fleming agree they're in a better place since their 'Summer House MV' showdown.
Although the teaser only showed the blowup and not what led to the drama between Preston and Bria, fans must wait until the new season drops to know what happened. Thankfully, Distractify can confirm the co-stars have squashed their issues for the time being.
When asked where they stand now, Preston and Bria said they put the crab leg controversy to rest and are back to their "brother and sister" relationship. And, like most siblings, fights will ensue over a plate of good food.
"We do have our moments, but it's all love," Bria said of her and Preston's relationship. "No hate. It's like bickering as if he's my older brother and because I am one of the youngest. And you know, I'm like the younger sister, but we're really cool. We talk. Everything's great."
Preston shared similar sentiments and said watching the fight play out exactly as he remembered played a role in his wanting to mend his and Bria's relationship. He also said he's "grateful" he and Bria decided to talk things out.
"Bria and I are great, and, truly, I'm grateful for that," he said. "After we saw certain things, we were like, you know, that's not our relationship. Like we get on each other's nerves at times, but our relationship is ordinarily pretty good: drinking, partying, talking, etc."
Summer House Martha's Vineyard airs on Bravo on Sundays at 9 p.m. EST. It also streams on Peacock.
