Andy Cohen often reminds his The Real Housewives franchise cast members that they’re “on a reality show about your lives.” However, one of his longtime 'wives, Robyn Dixon of The Real Housewives of Potomac, didn’t get the memo.
Off-camera, Robyn publicly admitted that, after several seasons of allegations, her husband, Juan Dixon, cheated on her in 2020. According to Robyn, Juan and the anonymous woman communicated shortly after the couple became engaged for the second time in 2019.
While she claims she and Juan sorted out their issues off-camera, Robyn’s reveal upset fans who tune into the show to see what the women are going through in their day-to-day lives.
Robyn had the chance to redeem herself when RHOP’s eighth season aired on Bravo in November 2023. Unfortunately, she didn’t do so well defending her actions. Now, Robyn has revealed something fans suspected might happen after Season 8.
Here's what to know about her RHOP fate.
Is Robyn Dixon fired from ‘RHOP’?
The JasmineBrand reported in March 2024 Robyn was the next one on the DMV-based show’s chopping block. At the time, Candiace Dillard Bassett, who joined Potomac in Season 3, announced she was leaving the show to pursue other opportunities. Candiace later revealed in April 2024 she was preparing for her first baby with her husband Chris Bassett. But anywho, on to Robyn.
On Monday, April 15, the day after the RHOP Season 8 reunion ended, Robyn confirmed on her and her best friend Gizelle Bryant's podcast, Reasonably Shady, that the latest season was her last. She also said she was fired from the show and became emotional as she reflected on not being asked to return to the show she's been on since Season 1.
"Yes, I will not be returning for season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac," Robyn said, per People. "It's reality. The network did not invite me back. I was fired, for lack of better words. I will not sugar-coat the situation the situation and say, 'Ooh I am walking away and this is a break' or anything like this. This is a network decision."
According to The JasmineBrand, Robyn could reportedly be asked back to appear in future episodes, likely in a “friend” capacity. The mother of two didn't mention anything about a possible return to RHOP in future seasons, and instead thanked the people who supported her and her family during her tenure. She also said she was "OK" with her ultimate fate.
"I'm OK with it because nothing lasts forever," Robyn said. "I've had a very long run on the show, and I just really appreciate that time and the opportunity that I had on the show."
"Thank you to the fans who have watched us from day 1," she continued. "I do want to especially thank all of the fans and viewers who have supported me, showed loved to me. Whether you directly sent me love or you prayed for me or you have positive thoughts around me, I appreciate you. And I hope I inspired you the viewers, the fans, to live your life authentically. To not feel pressure to change for anyone, or impress people, and just to be yourself."
'RHOP' fans strongly felt Robyn Dixon had to go.
Robyn's RHOP exit was something fans of the show had discussed on social media since February 2023. During that time, Robyn neglected to share details about Juan’s affair on the show. Instead, the mother of two spilled the tea on her and Gizelle Bryant’s podcast, Reasonably Shady, and the pod’s Patreon account, stating the affair happened during the pandemic.
Many viewers demanded Robyn exit the series after choosing to air her business behind a paywall rather than the show that significantly helps pay her and Juan’s bills. Andy also grilled Robyn about her decision during a February 2023 Watch What Happens Live episode. When asked why she never discussed the infidelity on the show, Robyn said they worked through it privately, and she didn’t feel it was relevant to her Housewives role.
“It was so in the back of my mind,” she explained to Andy, adding the couple “dealt with it” and had “moved on from it.”
With Robyn officially off RHOP, many believe it's for the best. In addition to not being as authentic as she hoped she was on the show, viewers feel Robyn lacked a storyline outside of her and Juan’s lengthy relationship and her friendship with Gizelle. Despite being an OG cast member, the Green Eyed Bandit co-member seemingly never recovered from wanting to protect her husband and family. Fortunately (or unfortunately), she no longer needs to.
It looks like Juan never has to worry about calling in sick for the reunions again!
The Real Housewives of Potomac airs new episodes on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
