Tina Turner
American singer, songwriter, and actress Tina Turner is the Queen of Rock n Roll and rose to fame as the lead singer of Ike & Tina Turner — releasing hits together such as "Proud Mary" and "River Deep" — before going solo in 1976.
In the 1980s, Tina made the ultimate comeback with the release of her 1984 single, "What's Love Got to Do With It," which earned her a Grammy for Record of the Year. Tina continued to release music and also launched her acting career with roles in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and Last Action Hero. Her biopic, What's Love Got to Do With It, based on her autobiography, I, Tina: My Love Story, was released in 1993.
Tina has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and has won 12 Grammy Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Grammy. She was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 and received a Kennedy Center Honor in 2005.
Tina is also the proud mother of four sons — Craig (who passed away in 2018), Ronald, Ike Jr., and Michael — two biological and two adopted. Tina revealed that she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2016 and she underwent a kidney transplant in 2017.
