'Big Brother 26' Could Feature a Big Twist That Shakes Up the Game Before It Even Starts

No season of Big Brother goes by without a significant twist to throw players and viewers off and make the competition heat up in a major way. Even before the July 2024 premiere of Big Brother Season 26, there were rumors about what the season's twist is, and how wild things could get. And it's all thanks to a cryptic teaser trailer that CBS shared online.

In the teaser, you can hear the voices of past Big Brother players at monumental times throughout their individual seasons. This is all while a camera shows moving shots of different Big Brother rooms throughout the years. There's also text on the screen that mentions "if these walls could talk." As the Big Brother fandom does, many dedicated fans took these small clues and ran with them to figure out what the Big Brother Season 26 twist could be.

When the Big Brother 26 trailer was shared on Twitter, one user commented, "I'm wondering if there's a new house since the main focus was the house and not on the contestants themselves." Another responded to that with, "I feel like I heard the BB house is moving studios, but I'm not sure if that's true."

The Big Brother fan account that shared the promo suggested there could be an AI theme at play as a twist. Perhaps the walls "talking" to houseguests throughout the season to help or hinder their games? On the other hand, one user on reddit pointed out in a general thread about the season that for most promos, the content "doesn't mean anything until the teasers they show a week before."

Still, another fan tweeted, "I definitely think that #BB26 has a futuristic theme this season since this promo feels very high tech, especially with the brand new logo! Reminds me of BB20 with Sam becoming a robot but this time it's inside a computer! Hopefully the new twists are way better than last season!"

With theories running rampant about what the Season 26 twist could be, there are also theories about the Big Brother house being in a new location than the studio it has remained in for years. CBS hasn't confirmed this, however. So for now, it looks like Big Brother 26 is still in the same filming location on the CBS lot.

That doesn't mean there aren't some major shake-ups within the house, though. And until the season premieres on July 17, fans are going to be speculating. It's what they do best before and during any season of Big Brother, after all. Thankfully, it won;t be long before viewers are religiously watching the live feeds and scouring the houseguests' conversations and facial expressions for clues about what comes next.
