Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for Season 26 of Big Brother.
In the Big Brother universe, one houseguest reigns supreme over all the rest. The so-called Head of Household (HOH) weaves through their stay with special permissions, including the bonus that they can’t be evicted from the house the week they are appointed. But these perks come with a cost: While in charge, the HOH must decide whom to nominate for the dreaded eviction.
Season 26 features all new players to the Big Brother game and, so far, no returning vets to shake things up. But don't get it twisted — these newbies have every intention of playing strong individual games, and following the season premiere, the intense game of strategy began.
Read on to learn more about Season 26's first HOH winner.
Who is the new HOH in 'Big Brother' Season 26?
There's a lot about Big Brother 26 that screams Julie Chen Moonves's iconic saying "expect the unexpected," and some of the Head of Household competitions will certainly add to those unexpected moments. While we don't yet know what the first HOH comp is like, according to the live feed spoilers, we at least know who the first HOH winner is ahead of the episode that airs where we see the game play out.
According to spoilers, Angela Murray is the first HOH in Season 26 of Big Brother. It's unclear what the competition was, or how close she might have come to losing it to someone else, but right now, she holds a lot of the power in the house.
Unfortunately, though, Angela isn't the only person with the power in Week 1. At the end of the two-part premiere, viewers learned that two players, Quinn and Makensy, have powers to change the game already. One of them has the Deep Fake HOH and one has America's Veto. The Deep Fake HOH could totally change who Angela puts on the block, or force her to nominate other people.
'Big Brother 26' has tons of twists.
Right off the bat, Big Brother 26 is different thanks to its BBAI twist. Artificial Intelligence plays a role in shaking up the game throughout the season and there's even an AI-generated image that remains in the house on a screen and talks to the houseguests. Add to that the two unexpected powers that two players have from the jump, and things are intense from the start.
And until the Veto competition, there's already plenty on the line for HOH Angela.
Watch Big Brother on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on CBS and Paramount Plus.
